Samsung Boosts Galaxy A Series with Fresh Designs and AI-Powered Expansion

Next-Gen Budget Models: Galaxy A07 and A17 Get a Stylish Makeover

Samsung is preparing to launch the Galaxy A07 and A17, two of the most affordable models in its Galaxy A series, with significant design upgrades expected in the second half of the year. Their predecessors, the Galaxy A06 and A16, were released in 2023 before the company introduced its new elliptical camera bump design, meaning they retained the older waterdrop camera layout.

Now, newly surfaced renders confirm that both the A07 and A17 will adopt this updated design, aligning them visually with higher-tier models in the range.

The Galaxy A07, seen in a Google Play Console certification render, features the same key island side frame as its predecessor but now incorporates the elliptical camera bump. Unlike more advanced models, the A07 continues with a dual-camera setup.

As for the Galaxy A17, it not only embraces the new elliptical bump but also includes a triple-camera configuration. The camera module reflects the “Olive Ring” design used in the Galaxy S25, giving it a bold, linear aesthetic.

Despite these design improvements, both models maintain entry-level features such as the Infinity-U front camera and thicker bezels—especially along the bottom edge—compared to mid-range and premium devices.

Galaxy A56 Brings AI to the Mid-Range Market and Expands into North America

Samsung is also pushing forward with its AI strategy by launching the Galaxy A56 5G in North America, just months after its global debut. This marks a significant step in the company’s aim to make Galaxy AI features more accessible beyond flagship devices.

Now available in Canada and the United States, the A56 is priced at $499 for the 128GB variant and $549 for the 256GB model. A trade-in programme offers up to $150 off for current Galaxy A series users in the US.

The A56 is the first in the A series to feature Samsung’s proprietary “Awesome Intelligence” AI platform. Previously exclusive to premium models, features like Circle to Search, AI Eraser, and custom photo filters are now included in this mid-range device. Hardware specifications are equally solid, with a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display (120Hz), Exynos 1580 processor, 8GB RAM, and IP67 water and dust resistance.

Driving AI Adoption and Market Share Growth

Samsung is using the A56 to accelerate its Galaxy AI rollout, aiming to equip more than 400 million devices with AI capabilities by the end of the year—double the 200 million target from 2024.

The initial market reception has been positive. According to Counterpoint Research, A56 sales in Western Europe rose 12% compared to the A55 during the first seven weeks of availability, despite an overall 11% drop in Samsung’s smartphone shipments in the region.

In the United States, Samsung is also gaining ground. Market analyst Canalys reported that Samsung held a 31% market share in Q2 2025, shipping 8.3 million units—up 38% year-on-year. In contrast, Apple saw an 11% decline in shipments, though it retained a 49% share. Analysts point to the A series and an aggressive inventory strategy as key drivers behind Samsung’s growth.

If the Galaxy A56 continues to resonate with mid-range buyers in North America, Samsung’s momentum could extend well into the second half of the year, solidifying its market position while promoting widespread AI adoption.
