How to Connect Your Samsung Galaxy Buds to Any Device

Samsung Galaxy Buds offer a streamlined wireless audio experience, and pairing them with your devices—whether it’s a Samsung smartphone, Android, iPhone, or Mac—is a simple process. While Samsung users benefit from enhanced integration, other users can still connect with just a few extra steps. Here’s a complete guide to pairing your Galaxy Buds across various platforms.

Connecting Galaxy Buds to a Samsung Smartphone

For those using a Samsung Galaxy device, connecting your Galaxy Buds is remarkably effortless, thanks to the seamless compatibility within the Samsung ecosystem:

  • Begin by opening the SmartThings app and confirm that you’re signed in to your Samsung account.

  • Place your Galaxy Buds into their charging case and close the lid for around five to six seconds.

  • Then, open the case lid.

  • A prompt should appear on your phone’s screen—simply tap “Connect” to begin pairing.

Once connected, you’ll gain immediate access to various features like active noise cancelling, ambient sound control, touch lock options, and other settings designed to tailor your audio experience.

Pairing Galaxy Buds with an Android Device

If you’re using a non-Samsung Android phone, the setup process remains relatively straightforward:

  • Place the earbuds inside the case, close the lid, and wait for five to six seconds.

  • Open the lid to put the buds into pairing mode.

  • If they were previously paired to another device, you’ll need to place them in your ears and touch both sensors simultaneously until pairing mode is activated.

  • On your phone, go to Settings > Connections > Bluetooth, and choose “Pair new device”.

  • Select your Galaxy Buds from the list of available Bluetooth devices.

You can also install the Galaxy Wearable app from the Play Store, which supports all Android phones. However, some advanced features may only be fully functional on Samsung devices.

Pairing Galaxy Buds with an iPhone

The pairing process with an iPhone differs slightly depending on the Galaxy Buds model. Only Galaxy Buds Live and Galaxy Buds Plus are officially supported through Samsung’s iOS app:

  • Download the Galaxy Buds app from the App Store.

  • Launch the app and tap “Get Started”.

  • Insert the buds into the charging case, wait five to six seconds, and then open the lid.

  • Enable Bluetooth on your iPhone.

  • Select your Galaxy Buds from the list of available Bluetooth devices and follow the remaining setup prompts.

For newer models like Galaxy Buds 2 Pro or Buds FE, the iOS app doesn’t offer compatibility. However, manual Bluetooth pairing still allows you to use the earbuds for basic audio:

  • Enable pairing mode on your Galaxy Buds.

  • On your iPhone, navigate to Settings > Bluetooth.

  • Tap on the name of your Galaxy Buds when it appears.

Keep in mind that while music playback will function, you won’t be able to access Samsung’s exclusive features or customisation tools on iOS.

Using Galaxy Buds with a Mac

Mac users can also connect Galaxy Buds with ease:

  • Open System Settings and head to the Bluetooth section.

  • Put the buds in their case, close the lid for five to six seconds, then open it to initiate pairing mode.

  • Wait for the Galaxy Buds to appear under the list of available devices.

  • Click on the name of your Galaxy Buds to connect.

This method enables you to enjoy your Galaxy Buds as standard Bluetooth audio output on macOS, although device-specific features like custom controls won’t be available.
